A shore excursion taking in some of the finest scenery in England and a visit to Hever Castle and Chartwell House
Upon departing your cruise ship we will head into Kent, the Garden of England for our tour.
Hever Castle dates back to the 13th century and was once the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, the second wife of Henry VIII and Mother of Elizabeth I. It formed the unlikely backdrop to a sequence of tumultuous events that changed the course of Britain’s history, monarchy and religion.
Hever is a beautiful moated country house set in superb grounds. There is walking necessary as part of this visit.
Upon departing Hever we will travel the short distance to Chartwell House. For over forty years it was the home of Winston Churchill. Churchill bought the property in September 1922 and lived there until shortly before his death in January 1965. This was the house where he raised his family and found some solace during the worst years of World War II.
Churchill was an avid amateur painter, painting over 500 canvasses in total. A large collection of his work lives at Chartwell hanging from the walls in the studio.

Meeting Location + Tour Duration
Meeting location: We shall collect you from your Cruise Terminal and the guide will introduce themselves and identify with their qualification badges.
Their Transport for London Authority Cab Drivers License is clearly displayed on the front and rear windscreens of their Licensed London Black Cab.
End location: We shall return you to your Cruise Terminal at the end of the tour or drop you at another agreed point for you to continue your day.

We are not Blue Badge Guides. Although we can accompany you inside, we cannot guide inside the Tower of London, St. Paul’s Cathedral and Westminster Abbey.
